Michael Jordan’s Background:
Michael Jeffrey Jordan, informally known as MJ was born on February 17th 1963 making him 58 years old today. He is a former professional basketball player and now businesses man. MJ was also born in the city of New York in the states. MJ was always informally known as the greatest basketball player of all time. This was because when he was playing for the NBA, he had played 15 seasons. And as a result, out of those 15 seasons he had won six championships with Chicago Bulls.
Nikes Background:
Nike is well-known for its athletic apparel all around the world. This is due to their extensive coverage, which appeals to a wide range of sporting markets. Footballers, basketball players, golfers, and even everyday wear such as tracksuits and trainers are all cared for.
Nike and Michael Jordan’s Endorsement.
A Marca.com reports that In 1984, Michael Jordan and Nike signed a pact. Michael Jordan was to have his own sneaker line named “Jordan’s,” and Nike was to pay Mr Jordan a total of $250,000 USD ahead as a mark of commitment. Furthermore, it appeared that this was an extremely dangerous move for Nike, given they were a failing company at the time. This was due to the fact that they simply couldn’t keep up with the likes of Converse and Adidas.
Michael Jordan went to Converse for this deal to take place, but they refused to satisfy his demands, which is one of the key reasons why Nike has this deal in place and is still standing today. Nike gained 126 million dollars in that year alone as a result of honouring Michael Jordan’s requests. According to Brand Finance 2021, Nike’s value in 2021 was $30.44 million USD, indicating that Nike would not be where they are today if it hadn’t been for Michael Jordan’s sponsorship in 1984.
Nike’s Jordan brand became a huge success. This was primarily because to the trainer that they manufactured, which has made it a coveted shoe in today’s generation. Nike was quite creative in how they sold their Jordan products because only a small number of them were ever created, making some of them collectible for specific induvial. Some of their trainers were mass-produced, while others were more collectibles that now fetch exorbitant prices.
According to Nike.com, the initial Jordan’s were known as the Air Jordan 1 and were made particularly for Michael Jordan in 1984. These trainers came in a red and black colour scheme. Nike has released 35 Air Jordan shoes in all, according to sport-net.org 2021. Because the Jordan shoe has become so popular and collectible, third-party websites and programmes such as Stockx have been created to make it easier for people who are interested in the shoes to sell and buy them.
Although the Nike brand Air Jordan is well-known for the sneakers that it produces. In the basketball world, they primarily pander to the induvial. This is due to the fact that they also released clothes such as tracksuits and T-shirts. However, it was later revealed that not only basketball players wore them, but others all over the world did as well, despite the fact that the country of origin was the United States, which is where basketball is most popular. Many individuals were inspired by Michael Jordan’s silhouette, and the ‘jump man’ emblem was born as a result.

Michael Jordan is what has allowed the stars of today to earn from endorsments. He is a great businessman. What a terrific read. Crazy to think how much money he has made from just a simple collab.
